Overview

Welcome to the Wadiso Version 6 (Wadiso) Tutorial. The Wadiso program is a powerful analysis and planning tool for water distribution systems. The program operates in a special, built-in CAD and GIS environment, called Albion, in which most of the data capturing, model editing, and viewing/interpreting of results can be done.

This Tutorial is a step-by-step guide to master the basic functions of Wadiso, as well as some Albion GIS functionality. For more information and guidance on Albion, please refer to the specific Albion CAD and GIS Quick Start Guides and Tutorials.

If you are new to Wadiso, it is recommended that you first complete the Quick Start Guide, and then this more detailed Tutorial, before using Wadiso. The Quick Start Guide and Tutorials rely on sample data files that are provided with the Wadiso installation.

With Wadiso, the water distribution components (i.e. pipes, nodes, tanks, etc.) can be captured, edited and saved. The model can then be analysed, balanced (via a steady state analysis), and the results viewed. The more powerful hydraulic analyses in Wadiso, such as Time Simulation and Optimization, will also be explored in this tutorial.
