Pipe

A pipe is a link. It is assumed to have a constant diameter between the two nodes it connects. The program uses the Hazen-Williams or Darcy-Weisbach head loss equation. Accordingly, a pipe has associated with it either the Hazen-Williams coefficient, or the Darcy-Weisbach friction factor. Alternatively, the Darcy-Weisbach equation permits to specify the absolute roughness of the pipe, in which case the program will use the Colebrook-White transition formula to calculate the friction factor. The status of a pipe can be set either as “OPEN” or “CLOSED”, in which latter case it will represent a closed isolation valve, equivalent to a pipe with zero diameter.
