The CAD > Tools > WGS > Convert ASCII Text File option allows the WGS transformation of a text data file.

A similar dialog to the WGS84 CAD conversion appears. In addition the Input File as well as Output File must be specified, as well as the format of the file. The user must also select if the first line of the file should be skipped (because it represents a header).

The number of points read will then be displayed.

Error Messages

The following error message may result:

Orion module not available: Your security key has not been updated for the Orion (WGS Conversion) module. Please contact GLS Consulting to purchase the upgrade.

Conversion error occurred – some data not converted. X Entities: Some entities in the text file could not be converted. This is most likely the case when all or some data points fall outside the area for which you have the block data file(s). Ensure that all data points represent full surveyor coordinates. For example X values (Southings) must be larger than 2 500 000.
