An Initial Status has to be specified for each link in the system, as part of the time/WQ simulation data.

•For pipes: Initial status is either OPEN or CLOSED.

•For pumps: Initial status is either ON (Relative speed = 1) or OFF (Relative speed = 0). A relative speed setting can also be defined as initial condition.

•For valves: Initial setting is the setting of the valve, e.g. 40 m for a PRV, 100 L/s for a FCV, etc. Initial status is either OPEN, CLOSED or IGNORE.

 

Initial link status is system-specific time/WQ simulation data, associated with each link in the system, and therefore saved as part of the system data.
