Modify > Extend (select from Main Menu)

Extends selected object.

The Extend function works as following:

1.The function differs from most other Modify functions in that at the start of operation no objects need to be selected (the selection must be done on a later stage, see step 4).

2.Select Modify > Extend from the main menu.

3.At the prompt: Select boundary edges (press Enter when done) - select the line/polyline that will be used as boundary line to which the object must be extended.

4.At the prompt: Select object to extend or shift-select to trim - select the object to be extended (such as a line, polyline or polygon).

Note, if you shift-select the object at step 4. then it will be trimmed and not extended. The function is then identical to Trim.
