Inserts a new block reference
Insert inserts a new block reference into the drawing, and provides an easy way to load an existing drawing as a block reference. This is not the same as an Externally Referenced drawing. To create new block objects, see Block.
Elements
Block: The drop-down list contains all currently active predefined blocks that can be inserted.
Load from File: Allows you to select an external file to insert as a block. See this page for details.
Position, Scale, Rotation: These three parameters control the attributes of the block reference. All three can either be specified manually, or interactively inside the drawing.
Special Rotation Options:
There is a special 'Pick Up' mode for defining the rotation of a symbol. When activated, it causes the rotation of the symbol to be picked up from a nearby line or polyline.
•Align, But Orient Upwards: Snap rotation to the line, but make sure the symbol is not upside down.
•Use Line's Direction Absolutely: Obey the line's direction absolutely.
•Offset Angle by 90 degrees: The natural angle of a symbol is for it to lie flat on it's side, pointing to the right. However, it often makes more sense to define a symbol pointing upwards. Tick this option if it points upwards.
