Changing a node to a tank

In order to not click on the underlying CAD drawing when trying to select model entities, we are first going to make the CAD layers non-selectable. Click on the downward arrow that is located to the right of the current layer drop-down list (located on the Quick Access Bar):

The six top MODEL layers are the GIS representation of the system, whereas the bottom four are the original CAD drawing layers.

 

Click on the lock icons next to the Text, Nodes and Pipes layers.

 

Then, select Node 1, and right-click to open the following pop-up menu. From the list of options in the menu, choose Selected Nodes(1), as shown below. You will find an option Convert NODE to:. Several options will be available, but for this step we want to change a Node to a Tank, so select TANK. The entire step is shown below:

Simply select Yes at the following two prompts:

WAD_QSGuide_RemoveTSControls_New

 

This will result in Node 1 changing to a TANK, and as such, will be drawn with a special tank symbol.
