Output

Output refers to the rate of water extraction which is withdrawn from the system at a node. Domestic or industrial usage and fire flows are examples of output. Output is treated to be independent of local pressure. Output is the same as negative input. A node with output cannot simultaneously be assigned a constant head. This also implies that a reservoir or tank (i.e. a special node structure with constant head) may not get an output assigned to it.
