Pareto Optimal parameters in the optimization data govern the alternative solutions produced by the algorithm. The user can specify a percentage of cost. The alternative solutions (Pareto Optimal) given by the program will not exceed the cost of the optimum solution by more than this percentage. In addition the user may specify a pressure increment (in m or psi). The alternative solutions will not violate the pressure requirements by more than this increment. Percentage of cost and pressure increment control the length of the Pareto Optimal solution queue. The two values can be set to zero in which case the program will not look for alternative solutions. Computer time required for the optimization depends on the length of the alternative solution queue. Values of zero will require the least amount of time.
