The Model Data > Model Topology > Convert Link To... menu item converts a selected link to some other specified link type (e.g. example a pipe can be converted to a pump). Note this menu item is only active (enabled) when a link is selected and that the same function is also accessible via a right-click menu (when right-clicking on the selected link, see screen-shot below).
