Tank Parameters

The Tank Parameters specified as part of the time/WQ simulation data are important, since they govern the filling/emptying of tanks in the system, and therefore, by implication, also controls of links in the system. For each tank, a bottom elevation, initial water level, min/max water levels, and a cross-sectional area (if cylindrical) are required. If the tank is not cylindrical, a Curve ID can be specified, which indicates the tank volume to tank height relationship.

The Mixing Model for each tank also has to be specified, if a water quality analysis is to be performed. The options are MIXING (for complete mixing), 2COMP (for two-compartment mixing), FIFO (for First In First Out plug flow), and LIFO (for Last In First Out plug flow).

The Mixing Fraction only applies to the two-compartment mixing model, and represents the fraction of the total tank volume devoted to the inlet/outlet compartment.

The Bulk Reaction Coefficient is for chemical reactions in the tank. Time units are 1/days. Use a positive value for growth reactions and a negative value for decay.

The tank parameters are system-specific time/WQ simulation data, which are associated with each tank in the system and saved with the system data.
