The initial water quality of tanks is entered/edited in the Tank table, which is accessed by selecting Simulation Data > Simulation Data in Model Tables > Initial WQ (Tank/Source).
The initial water quality for tanks is data associated with each tank in the system. The above sub-menu option therefore gives access to the regular Tank table, where other system data, such as the steady state water/level of the tanks, can and should have been entered already.
When entering the Tank table (as described above), the table automatically scrolls to the “Tsim Initial Quality” column. This column needs to be populated by the user, by specifying either 0 (zero), or the actual initial water quality level for every tank in the system. (Initially, by default, the Initial Water Quality of every tank will be zero).
Initial water quality for TANK type tank nodes will vary in accordance with the time/WQ simulation. For RESERVOIR type tank nodes, this initial quality will remain constant throughout the time simulation, unless it is allowed to vary in accordance with settings made in the water quality Sources Editor.
(The initial tank quality is considered system-specific time/WQ simulation data, which is saved as part of the system data. It is not saved as part of the time/WQ simulation-specific data.
The initial tank quality is a property associated with each tank in the system data. Therefore, it can also be entered/edited directly in the Tank table, or in the Node Info box (also referred to as the Database box) available in the Albion environment, or by the selective editing features available in the Albion environment.
