For Example 2, assume there are no special links, that the system is served by a 40 m high elevated tower at the southern end of the 300 mm pipe, and that all nodes have a water demand of 5 L/s. These edits are now addressed.
First, click on the node at the southern end of the 300 mm pipe to select the entity. Use the right-click menu functionality to convert the NODE to a TANK. Select Yes to confirm conversion. Then, edit the water level in the Database box to 40 m.
Select all the nodes, and fill a value of 5 L/s into the Output field. This will update all the water demands at the nodes to 5 L/s. It can be verified by clicking on any of the nodes in the system and viewing the Output field value.
The system has thus been built, i.e. the lines and polylines have been converted to a model, special model elements defined, and node demands specified. The model is now ready to be analysed.
Before starting with the analysis, some non-hydraulic data can be entered and saved together with the other system data.
