Alternative way of compiling a model from a CAD drawing

In this section, we will discuss an alternative method to compile a Wadiso model by importing and converting a CAD drawing to a system model. This is a two-stage process, in which the CAD drawing will first be converted into a GIS database, and then from there, into a Wadiso model. Spatial correlation will be used to assign text from the CAD drawing to the model. This can be accomplished via the following steps:

Creating a new model database

Opening the geospatially positioned background CAD drawing

Creating a GIS pipe layer from the CAD drawing

Adding diameters to the pipe data using spatial correlation

Verifying the correctness (and saving) of the spatial correlation data

Converting the pipe GIS into a model

Renumbering the model

Additional steps to complete the model input for subsequent analysis
