Typical Time/WQ Simulation Session

An overview of the steps required to run a time/WQ simulation project on a network using Wadiso is given below:

Enter or retrieve, and view the system’s steady state data.

Run a steady state analysis, i.e. balance the system.

View and study the steady state results.

Enter or retrieve the time/WQ simulation data.

Run the time/WQ simulation.

View and interpret the time/WQ simulation results.

Entering the time/WQ simulation data can be further divided into the following steps:

Specify the Times-, Quality-(*), Reactions-(*), and Energy Settings.

Enter Time Patterns.

Assign Time Patterns to nodal water demand categories.

Specify Tank Parameters.

Specify Link Controls (Time-Based, Simple or Rule-Based).

Specify Water Quality sources(*).

Indicate Initial Status for all links.

Indicate Initial Water Quality for all nodes(*).

Save the time/WQ simulation-specific data in a time/WQ data file.

Save the system-specific time/WQ data with the system data.

* Steps marked with an asterisk (*) relate to Water Quality modelling only. These steps can be omitted and defaults used, if only a hydraulic time simulation analysis is required.
