Time Pattern for Pump Speeds

A time pattern to control a pump’s operation can be specified by selecting Simulation Data > Simulation Data in Model Tables > Pump Schedule Allocation.

WAD_UserGuide_PumpScheduleMenu

The time schedules for pumps are data associated with each pump in the system. The above sub-menu option therefore gives access to the regular Pump table, where other system data, such as the characteristic curve and steady state relative speed of the pumps, can and should have been entered already. The same common, built-in functionality can also be accessed, such as e.g. find/replace, filters, printing, exporting, memo fields, etc. (see Albion 6 GIS User Guide > User Interface Elements > Database Table).

When entering the Pump table (via the Pump Schedule Allocation menu option), the table automatically scrolls to the column “Tsim Schedule Pattern No” column (as shown below). This column has to be populated by the user, by specifying either a 0 (zero) for no time control of the pump, or the numeric ID of a time pattern, which governs the relative speed of the pump throughout the time simulation. It stands to reason that the time pattern must also be specified. In this pattern, a series of factors can be specified, which represents the pump’s relative speed over time. A relative speed of zero can be used to simulate pump = OFF conditions.

The pump schedule pattern data is considered system-specific time/WQ Simulation data, which is saved as part of the system data. It is not saved as part of the time/WQ simulation-specific data.

The pump schedule pattern is a property associated with each pump in the system data. Therefore, these parameters can also be edited directly in the Pump table, or in the Link Info box (also referred to as the Database box) available in the Albion environment, or by the selective editing features available in the Albion environment.
