An overview of the steps required to optimize a network using Wadiso is given below:
•Enter or retrieve the system’s steady state data;
•Run a steady state analysis, i.e. balance the system;
•Enter or retrieve optimization data;
•Run optimization; and
•View the optimization results and (optionally) transfer them to the steady state data.
Entering the optimization data can be further divided into the following steps:
•Identify pipes to be optimized by assigning them to groups;
•Assign a cost function for each pipe to be sized;
•Specify allowable candidate sizes for each of the groups to be sized;
•Specify loading cases (water demands) for which the pipes have to be sized;
•Set pressure constraints; and
•Set parameters for queue of Pareto Optimal solutions.
